Sechs Alben sind es nun bereits und gefühlt sind sie immer noch die Teenager von damals. Bombay Bicycle Club sind eine außergewöhnliche Band. Nicht nur, weil sie scheinbar mit jedem Album besser werden und das behaupten wir jetzt einfach mal mit "My Big Day", sondern auch weil sie sich kaum wiederholen, eine unglaubliche Freude ausstrahlen, bei dem was sie tun und bei Ihnen vor der Tür Busse parken mit coolen Künstlern die auf ihren Alben zu hören sein wollen. Belege dafür liefert "My Big Day" genug. Nilüfer Yanya, Jay Som, Holly Humberstone, Damon Albarn (ja, der von Blur) und sogar Disko Ikonen wie Chaka Khan sind zu hören. Dieses Album ist wirklich eines der wertvollsten und vielseitigsten die wir dieses Jahr in der Hand hatten und wir freuen uns das mit Euch teilen zu dürfen.

My Big Day ist das sechste Album von Bombay Bicycle Club und erscheint am 20. Oktober 2023. Produziert wurde es von Sänger und Gitarrist Jack Steadman in den Church Studios im Norden Londons und anschließend im bandeigenen Studio. Es wartet mit einer spannenden Auswahl an Gästen auf, die die ganze Bandbreite der Band perfekt widerspiegeln. Im Verlaufe des Albums sind die Stimmen von Damon Albarn, Holly Humberstone, Nilüfer Yanya, Jay Som und Chaka Khan zu hören. *** Today, Bombay Bicycle Club are very excited to release their sixth album, My Big Day. To celebrate the release, the band will host an album listening party for fans today on Discord, amidst an extensive, sold out instore/outstore today across the UK in the coming weeks. My Big Day and its preceding singles have been celebrated by fans and critics alike as some of Bombay Bicycle Club’s best ever work, 15 years into their career. Recent singles have been playlisted by BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music, and the band’s first ever appearance on Later… with Jools Holland will air later this year. They have also announced their biggest ever headline show for 2024 at London’s Alexandra Palace Park, following extensive EU and UK/IE tours in 2023-24. The impact the record has already had makes it clear that this is a band very much at their peak, continuing to exceed the expectations set by a wildly impressive career to date. The record features an eclectic host of guest vocalists that perfectly encapsulates the breadth of the band’s widespread appeal, including Chaka Khan, Damon Albarn, Jay Som, Nilüfer Yanya and Holly Humberstone. Frontman Jack Steadman sits on both sides of the glass for the duration of the record, having previously produced their fourth album So Long, See You Tomorrow, and co-production with John Congleton for 2020’s Everything Else Has Gone Wrong. Additional production comes from Paul Epworth on the track ‘Heaven’ and Ben Allen who co-produces ‘Turn The World On’. The record was mixed by Dave Fridmann (renowned for his work with The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, MGMT, HAIM).
